FAQs

Q: What do I need to do before playing a sport?

A: You need to have a current physical on file with Westside Christian prior to the first official start date for the sport according to the OSAA calendar. Contact Denise Moyer at 503.697.4711 or moyer@wchsonline.org to submit a physical.

The official start date for the sport season according to the OSAA calendar, is also the first day of tryouts. The official start dates are denoted on the Athletics Calendar as well (i.e. Fall Sports Begin).

For more information about a specific sport or if you are a transfer student during the summer, please contact the Athletic Director or the appropriate Varsity Head Coach.

 

Q: Where do I find schedules for WCHS sports?

A: Our Athletics Calendar hosts the game schedules and can be found on the left side of our home page by clicking on Athletics at the top of the Calendar.

The practice schedule for each team will be communicated by the respective Head Coach prior to the start of the season. For practice schedule inquiries, please contact the Athletic Director or the Varsity Head Coach of the specific sport.

Also, under the team pages are links to other scheduling resources such as the OSAA and Athletics.net for Cross Country and Track & Field.

 

Sports Medicine

Therapeutic Associates, Lake Oswego Physical Therapy (LOPT), provides all Westside Christian students and staff with free access to an athletic trainer. Please contact LOPT (503) 635-0844 for access to our athletic trainer.

Students must be enrolled in school and have a valid physical on file with Westside Christian prior to the first official start date for the sport according to the OSAA calendar. Contact Denise Moyer at 503.697.4711 or moyer@wchsonline.org to submit a physical.

Physicals are valid for two years. Click here for the form.

Upon enrollment, students will be registered to participate in athletics. Once a valid physical is on file, then the student-athlete will be cleared to participate. Coaches will communicate with families, who during enrollment process, selected their respective sport as having an interest in. If you would like to update your interest selections, please contact the Athletic Director.

Our athletics calendar, located on the left side of our website, contains all athletic events.

The OSAA website also contains pertinent information regarding game schedules, results, etc.

Practice schedules will be distributed by the Head Coach prior to the start of the season.

Generally, practices run Monday-Friday for about two hours and start anytime between 3pm and 7pm depending on the sport. Occasionally, some sports might practice on Saturday or Sunday or in the morning before school.
