Coach Staropoli has been Head Coach of Westside’s Girls’ Soccer program since the 2013 season. He played soccer at Sunset High School and at Oregon State University where he was selected all-conference as a senior. Mike has coached for the better part of two decades, has his USYS National “C” license, and is currently coaching competitive youth soccer at FC Portland Academy.  While with FC Portland, he led the ’99 girls and the ’00 girls to their first State Championship.

An attorney by profession, Coach Staropoli is married to Susie, and they are parents to Nick, Sarah, Matthew, and Laura. He met Jesus through the ministry of Young Life while in high school, and he and his family have long attended and been actively involved at Beaverton Foursquare Church.

In his two years at Westside Christian, the girls’ soccer program has registered 23 wins. In 2014, his team won 13 matches as they made their first appearance in state playoffs in five years. They entered the playoffs ranked 3rd in the State and after winning both their quarterfinal and semifinal matches, they competed in the OSAA State Championship match for the first time in school history.
