Come see the dramatic, historical production of Radium Girls, November 3-5 at Alpenrose Dairy Opera House, presented by students of Westside Christian High School.

Inspired by a true story, the play depicts the lives of working class women in the 1920s who, by painting the dials of “glow-in-the-dark” wristwatches, begin to fall mysteriously and fatally ill due to the radioactive paint they handled. This intriguing story prompts viewers to consider both past and present labor and worker safety issues,  scientific discovery, and consumerism in America.

Dates and showtimes are: Friday, Nov. 3, 7 pm; Saturday, Nov. 4, 2 pm and 7 pm; and Sunday, Nov. 5, 2 pm.

Admission is $6 for students and seniors, $8 for adults.  Tickets can be purchased at the door  at Alpenrose Dairy Opera House, 6149 SW Shattuck Rd, Portland.

Radium Girls was written by D. W. Gregory and first published in 2003.
