The Eagles girls’ soccer team stands at 6 wins 0 defeats after their 4-1 victory last night.

Last Tuesday the girls won at Portland Adventist 3-0 with goals from Lilie de la Motte and Laura Staropoli (2). They followed that with another tough match in warm temps on an artificial surface, this time at #8 Dayton last Friday. That game was a physical match where the Eagles had opportunities but just could not break through early. Finally, just 3 minutes from full time, Hollyn Dugan played a wonderful through ball to Staropoli who held off a defender and beat the keeper low right to grab the game winner. Goalkeeper Mckenzie Turner and her defenders Mary Nordlund, Emily Curtis, Lydia Polvony, Lexi Rodriguez and holding mid Lauren Demaris kept the Pirates at bay and did not concede many chances. Hard work by Selah Joyce, Lilie de la Motte, Grace Biggs, Kelsey Moore, Brooklyn Rodriguez and Blythe Wolverton helped secure the win.  Last night the girls won their first league contest with a 4-1 win at home against Rainer.  Senior Lilie de la Motte led the way with two goals.
