Goal to Goal is a video series with our Athletic Director Rob Casteel, where he intends to show the human side of the athletic program. Video interviews will highlight different contributors (coaches, student athletes and parents) to the athletic program.
In Goal to Goal we hope to convey the passion and enthusiasm these people have for Westside and its athletics.
Rob is with Varsity Golf Coach Ben Smucker below.
The WCHS boys golf team came through with another stellar performance at the annual Small School Invitational Championship at Pumpkin Ridge g olf course. Westside placed 3rd as a team in the strong 8 team invitational tournament. The Westside Eagles battled harsh windy conditions to compete against an impressive 8 team field that included three top five State Tournament placing teams from 2015, Oakridge, Catlin Gable and OES. Alex Roberts led the way for the Eagles by shooting an impressive 82.
Great overall effort by the entire WCHS Golf Team!!
The Westside golf team continued with their quality play yesterday, winning their 5 team match at Quail Valley Golf course. Jack Myers took second overall with the match low round score, followed closely by Alex Roberts in 3rd. Great job by the Boys Golf Team – they are quickly becoming the team to beat this year in our District.
Westside took first in their 3 team match up in Longview at Mint Valley against Clatskanie and Cascade Christian. Alex Roberts took the individual low round honors shooting an 86, six shots lower than second place.
A great day of golf by the Westside Eagles!
