The Westside Christian High School girls soccer team heads into the quarterfinals of the state playoffs for the 4th consecutive year. The team finished the regular season ranked #3 in state and thereby secured a bye into the quarters.

Last Friday, the Eagles beat Riverdale 1 nil in a Special District #1 playoff.  The goal came courtesy of sophomore Lauren Demaris, who made a far post run and headed home a left footed inswinging corner taken by senior Laura Staropoli.

The win ran the Westside girls’ record to 13 wins and 2 losses.  Those 2 losses came at the hands of league opponents OES and Catlin Gabel, who ended the regular season ranked #1 and #2 in the state.

Westside will take on the winner of the Tuesday contest between Santiam Christian and Lakeview. The Westside quarterfinal match will be played this coming Saturday Nov. 4th at Tonkin field in Hillsboro, kickoff time TBD.
