Visual Arts

Westside Christian High School offers multiple visual arts classes.

Ms. Lindsey Haglund, Westside Christian's Art Teacher, joins the Westside community for the 2024-2025 school year.

Ms. Haglund has seven years of experience teaching Art K-12. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Portland State University and her Master's Degree in Teaching from George Fox University. She is a professional ceramics teacher and owns a ceramics studio offering private lessons for all ages. She has served as a youth leader with Sunset Youth and CIY, middle school, and high school, and enjoys the fun of creating Art with her students at Westside.

Lindsey has two amazing teenage sons and enjoys hiking, yoga, weight training, making wheel-thrown ceramics, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.

The Art offerings include: Intro to Art, Advanced Art, and AP Studio Art.

Westside offers Intro to Art, Advanced Art, and AP Studio Art. These classes teach students how to use different mediums, techniques, and skills to share their points of view through art. Westside Christian continues to expand the Visual Art department with technology classes, such as Digital Design. Students can also learn creative business skills in the yearbook class.

Twice a year, students showcase their art to the community. This is a highlight for many community members and families, as they get to see students hard work and creativity on display. More than 400 pieces are on display during each event.
