Position Opening:
Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a part-time Donor Relations Administrative Assistant immediately.
 
Pay Range: Hourly
Effective Date: April 2024

Purpose of the Position: To support the Director of Marketing in development and donor relations efforts. Manage all aspects of the donor database. Provide general donor relations administrative support. Provide Accounting support as needed to track and acknowledge donations.

Essential Responsibilities:


1. Support development and donor relations efforts.

a. Manage and support a quality donor database system (Donor Perfect)
b. Maintain and manage an organizational system to facilitate consistent and timely communication with donors and friends of the school  
c. Enter pledges, donations, and gifts into the database 
e. Create spreadsheets, reports, and lists for analyzing donor base and activity, and accurate reconciliation with the financial software (QB); monitor pledges vs. gifts received to verify accuracy
f. Provide support for capital campaign efforts
g. Provide proper donor acknowledgment and thank you letters 

2. Provide general donor relations administrative support 

a. Make phone calls as requested
b. Develop and maintain an organizational system of document storage and retrieval for the development office


3.  Provide Accounting support as needed to track and acknowledge donations.

a.  Enter pledges, donations, and gifts into financial (QB) software 
b.  Enter credit card donations into the financial (QB) software
c.  Reconcile bank statements monthly with credit card activity
d.  Create monthly reports reconciling donor database (Donor Perfect) to Accounting financial software (QB)
e.  Record donors designated gifts as temporarily restricted funds when received or pledged


4. Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.


5. Maintain a high level of confidentiality as it relates to donor gifts and contributions.
 

Position Hours:
The Development Administrative Assistant position is a half-time position.


Preferred Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
1.  Bachelors Degree and job-appropriate training and experience
2.  Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication and has customer service orientation both in person and on the telephone
3. Proficiency in using computer software and strong data entry skills     
4. Experience with development and accounting software preferred
5. Excellent organizational skills
6. Able to manage multiple priorities
7. Works well in team environments  
8. High regard for confidential information

Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a permanent, full-time Chemistry Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year offering competitive pay.

Purpose for the Position: The Teacher is primarily responsible for providing a classroom environment in which students have the opportunity to experience personal growth in the academic, relational, and spiritual aspects of their lives. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program specific to his or her course(s) that will result in students achieving this growth in accordance with the mission and vision of Westside Christian High School. Responsibilities could include teaching a combination of the following:

AP Chemistry (11th & 12th Grade)
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
1.The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.
2.A valid Teaching Certificate applicable to subject area (specific grade level and area endorsements strongly preferred).
3.Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
4.Demonstration of experience with positive relationships with high-school aged students.
5.An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including signed agreement with WCHS Statement of Faith.

Purpose for the Position: The Teacher is primarily responsible for providing a classroom environment in which students have the opportunity to experience personal growth in the academic, relational, and spiritual aspects of their lives. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program specific to his or her course(s) that will result in students achieving this growth in accordance with the mission and vision of Westside Christian High School.
 

The successful candidate will be able to: 

  • Develop and implement instructional practices and strategies that include multiple methods of assessment, support students in meeting rigorous learning goals and engage and encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas.
  • Challenges students to think and express their thoughts through engaging lessons and
    activities.
  • Planning instruction assessing student progress in content comprehension.
  • Update and maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development as set forth by school policy.
  • Consults principal, specialist, other teachers in the school, and students in evaluating their own plans, methods, and results.
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies, providing a safe, secure and respectful learning environment; communicating student behavior and expectations positively; conveying reminders, rules and expectations with consistency and equity, while recognizing the unique qualities and characteristics of the individual.
     

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience. 
  • Demonstration of experience with positive relationships with high-school aged students. 
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including a signed WCHS Statement of Faith agreement.

Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a permanent, part-time or full-time Spanish or French Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year.

Purpose of the Position: The Teacher is primarily responsible for providing a classroom environment in which students have the opportunity to experience personal growth in the academic, relational, and spiritual aspects of their lives. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program specific to his or her course(s) that will result in students achieving this growth in accordance with the mission and vision of Westside Christian High School.
