Purpose for the Position
The Assistant Theatre Director supports the Theatre Director in creating high-quality, engaging theatrical productions at Westside Christian High School. This position provides additional leadership and supervision throughout the rehearsal and production process, with a particular emphasis on the technical elements of theatre, including set construction, lighting, sound, and costuming.

The Assistant Theatre Director will work collaboratively with the Theatre Director and students to help bring each production to life while creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for student performers and technicians.

Essential Responsibilities

Production & Technical Support

• Assist the Theatre Director with the technical needs of each production, including set construction, lighting, sound, props, and other production elements as needed
  Provide hands-on support and guidance to students working on technical theatre projects.
• Assist with the operation and setup of theatrical sound systems, microphones, lighting equipment, lighting boards, and other technical equipment.
• Assist with set construction, installation, strike, and general organization of production materials.
• Help troubleshoot technical needs throughout the rehearsal and performance process.

Costume Support

• Assist with organizing, sourcing, fitting, altering, and maintaining costumes as needed.
• Help students appropriately use and care for costumes and costume materials.
• Collaborate with the Theatre Director on the overall visual needs of the production.

Rehearsal & Student Supervision

• Attend designated rehearsals, technical rehearsals, performances, and production workdays as coordinated with the Theatre Director.
• Provide student supervision during rehearsals and production activities.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive rehearsal environment.
• Support and encourage students as they develop their skills in performance and technical theatre.

Production Collaboration

• Work closely with the Theatre Director to identify production needs and complete projects within established timelines.
• Assist with other production-related responsibilities as needed.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, creativity, and a servant-hearted approach when working with students and staff. 

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Qualities

• Experience or demonstrated skill in technical theatre, particularly in areas such as set construction, lighting, sound, props, or stagecraft.
• Preferred experience operating theatrical sound systems, microphones, lighting systems, lighting boards, and other technical theatre equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and help teach students the safe and appropriate operation of theatre equipment.
• Basic experience with costuming, sewing, alterations, or costume organization is preferred.
• Comfortable working with and supervising high school students.
• Ability to safely use and teach students to use common tools and technical theatre equipment.
• Dependable, flexible, organized, and able to collaborate effectively with the Theatre Director and other members of the production team.
• Availability for agreed-upon rehearsals, technical rehearsals, performances, and production workdays.
• A commitment to supporting the mission and values of Westside Christian High School.

Purpose for the Position: The Custodian plays an essential role in ensuring that Westside Christian High School remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This individual is responsible for daily janitorial duties, facility upkeep, and supporting school events through set-up and tear-down. The Custodian must model a strong work ethic and servant’s heart, reflecting the school’s mission of intentional discipleship.

Essential Responsibilities:

 Daily School Operations Support 

• Prepare and maintain school facilities for daily use, scheduled, and unscheduled events.
• Perform routine custodial tasks, including cleaning classrooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and offices.
• Set up and tear down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Maintain custodial supplies, equipment, and chemicals in an organized and safe manner.
   

Maintenance Support

• Perform light maintenance duties, including replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting maintenance needs to the Facilities Director.
• Assist with upkeep of hard surface flooring and carpet care (buffing, vacuuming, and steam cleaning as directed).
• Support field and outdoor area upkeep as assigned.
   

Building Security

• Lock and unlock doors, windows, and gates as needed to accomplish custodial responsibilities.
• Report any safety or security concerns to the Facilities Director.
   

Facilities Safety and Compliance

• Follow established cleaning and sanitation practices to ensure a healthy school environment.
• Identify safety hazards or maintenance issues and report them promptly.
• Support emergency preparedness by ensuring hallways, exits, and safety equipment remain accessible and unobstructed.
   

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of job-relevant experience.

The track season runs from mid early march until mid-may. Job Description: The Varsity Cheer Head Coach works directly with the school Athletic Director, the cheerleaders, and the cheerleaders’ families. The Winter OSAA season spans mid-November through early March. The team has traditionally participated in sideline cheer for varsity basketball (boys and girls.) 

The Cheer Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct tryouts late Spring to select team members for the competition and sideline team(s)
• Coordinate and attend all practices, games, and events, including summer camp and basketball State Championships (if applicable)
• Develop and implement practice plans that instruct athletes in fundamental skills necessary for individual and team success (including stunting, cheerleading, dance, and competition skills)
• Develop Game Day competition choreography, either personally or through a hired professional 
  Train athletes to engage and uplift the crowd as sideline cheerleaders
• Develop, market, and execute fundraising efforts, such as Youth Cheer Camp (summer), car wash, and Youth Cheer Clinic (winter)
• Partner with Student Council (STUCO) and administration on plans for pep rallies/ assemblies, Back-to-School events, etc., providing cheer team support and involvement where possible
• Plan and lead post-season awards night
• Maintain Cheer Handbook in accordance with program values, plans, policies, and procedures
• Work alongside uniform rep to order necessary items prior to start of the season
• Maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies
• Maintain cheerleading budget through accurate and timely tracking of expenses and fundraising income
• Provide clear and regular communication with athletes and their parents/families  
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development
• Promote discipleship and excellence in every aspect of the program

Job Qualifications
Have experience with high school and/or college cheer, ideally in both sideline and competition sectors
NFHS fundamentals of course completion preferred
Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school's mission.
Have excellent communication skills
Pass a criminal background check
Complete all  cheerleading coaching certifications and memberships before the season begins.
