Job Description: The Assistant Throws Coach will be in charge of planning and running discus and shot put practices throughout the track season. The track season runs from mid early march until mid-may. The Assistant Throws Coach is expected to lead the throwers spiritually, technically, and tactically, while fostering strong teamwork, ethics and sportsmanship, on and off the track. Applicants must have quality communication skills, experience and knowledge in the sport, and an ability to lead. Coaching is a great opportunity to develop young athletes for the next generation and to instill Christian values through athletics. The Assistant Coach will receive a stipend. All coaches work under the direction of our athletic director, Caleb Turner, and all applications will be referred to him.

Job Expectations

  • Coaching and leading the throwing athletes (Discus and Shot Put) at practices and competitions
  • Maintaining all required certifications per OSAA policy
  • Assist the head coach with organization of all team events and travel
  • Becoming Type 20 bus certified to help transport students to and from meets
  • Responsible for the throwing implements and facilities
  • Organizing pre-season training during the winter months
  • Occasional communication with parents/families of the program

Job Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience
  • NFHS fundamentals of course completion preferred
  • Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school's mission.

Job Description: The Head Varsity Volleyball Coach will be in charge of all aspects of the volleyball program. The volleyball season runs from mid August to mid November. The Head Varsity Volleyball Coach is expected to lead the volleyball team spiritually, technically, and tactically, while fostering strong teamwork, ethics and sportsmanship, on and off the court. Applicants must have quality communication skills, experience and knowledge in the sport, and an ability to lead. Coaching is a great opportunity to develop young athletes for the next generation and to instill Christian values through athletics. The Head Coach will receive a stipend. All coaches work under the direction of our athletic director, Caleb Turner, and all applications will be referred to him.

Job Expectations

  • Coaching and leading the whole girls volleyball program (Currently Varsity, JV, and JV2)
  • Primarily responsible for the hiring of all assistant coaches with the support of the Athletic Director
  • Maintaining all required certifications per OSAA policy
  • Organization of all team events and travel
  • Responsible for the program uniforms and apparel
  • Assisting the Athletic Director with maintaining program equipment and facilities
  • Organizing pre-season training during the summer months
  • Organizing and coaching at the yearly Westside youth volleyball camp (August)
  • Consistent communication with parents/families of the program

Job Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience at the Varsity level
  • NFHS fundamentals of course completion preferred
  • Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school's mission.
