Position Opening:
Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a permanent, full-time Assistant Principal of Academics for the 2024/2025 school year. 

Purpose for the Position:  To provide and be responsible for instructional leadership of faculty and strategic development of relevant and consistent academic policy across the school.  

Essential Responsibilities:

Faculty Support

  • Provide leadership to the faculty in the implementation of academic policies.
  • Plan and facilitate professional development, including in-service.
  • Mentoring new teachers including onboarding, support with lesson planning, classroom teaching strategies, assessment, etc.
  • Formal and Informal Evaluations.
  • Substitute teacher coordinator.


Academic Support

  • Curriculum planning and development across the school.
  • Oversee textbook selection and budget.
  • Oversee the Accreditation process.
  • Oversee English Department approved literature list


Student Support Services

  • Serve as the primary contact for parent questions regarding classroom instruction and student performance.
  • Work with the School Counselor(s) on academic hardship issues.
  • Oversee coordinator of student learning and accommodations.
  • Chair the academic hardship committee.
  • Oversee the international student program
     

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • The minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience as a high school educator and experience in an administrative role within an educational setting. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of educational principles, curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment practices and student support services.
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including a signed agreement with WCHS Statement of Faith.

This is a full-time position
 

Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a permanent, full-time Director of IT & AV for the 2024/2025 school year. 
 

Purpose for the Position: To provide management and maintenance of information technology infrastructure. To provide technical support to staff and students. To provide audiovisual systems support for classroom and auditorium systems. Create and Implement educational technical initiatives to advance Westside's mission and to advance technology use in the classroom.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain information technology infrastructure.
    • Maintain​ staff Mac & PC devices, student issued Chromebooks, network infrastructure equipment, telecommunications systems, and applications in good working order.
    • Maintain inventory control over all technology assets (hardware, software, subscriptions).
    • Specify, recommend, and provide new and replacement technology in coordination with the administration and within budget constraints. 
  • Provide technical support for staff and students.
    • Be responsive to help desk support tickets for staff and students supporting technology and applications.
    • Coordinate with a faculty position that provides technology assistance to this position for technical support.
    • Assimilate information and become the subject-matter expert for supporting staff, faculty and students in the use of Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft M365, Adobe Creative Cloud Administration, Clever rostering and IDM, FACTS RenWeb SIS, and other EdTech applications.
  • Provide Audio Visual system support for classroom and auditorium systems.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage classroom AV systems.
    • Train faculty and staff on the use and implementation of classroom AV systems.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage auditorium sound, video, and lighting systems and provide technical support for chapel and other users of these systems.
  • Create and Implement educational technical initiatives to advance Westside's mission and to advance technology use in the classroom.
    • Research and be current on educational technology in the classroom.
    • Work with Administration to identify initiatives, new technologies, and new applications to enhance better education and more efficiency.
 

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have an evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including a signed WCHS Statement of Faith agreement.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience related to core areas of responsibility.
  • A team-oriented approach.
  • Strong computer knowledge of hardware, software, and networking systems on both Mac and PC platforms and proven competency in technology management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle is consistent with the school’s mission, including a signed WCHS Statement of Faith agreement.

This is a full-time position
 

Westside Christian High School (located in Tigard, OR) is seeking a permanent, part-time or full-time French Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year.

Purpose of the Position: The Teacher is primarily responsible for providing a classroom environment in which students have the opportunity to experience personal growth in the academic, relational, and spiritual aspects of their lives. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program specific to his or her course(s) that will result in students achieving this growth in accordance with the mission and vision of Westside Christian High School.
 

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Develop and implement instructional practices and strategies that include multiple methods of assessment, support students in meeting rigorous learning goals and engage and encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas.
  • Challenges students to think and express their thoughts through engaging lessons and activities.
  • Planning instruction assessing student progress in content comprehension.
  • Update and maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development as set forth by school policy.
  • Consults principal, specialist, other teachers in the school, and students in evaluating their own plans, methods, and results.
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies; providing a safe, secure and respectful learning environment; communicating student behavior; expectations positively; conveying reminders, rules and expectations with consistency and equity, while recognizing the unique qualities and characteristics of the individual.
     

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience. 
  • Demonstration of experience with positive relationships with high-school aged students. 
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including signing the WCHS Statement of Faith.
