Position Opening:
Purpose for the Position: The Teacher is primarily responsible for providing a classroom environment in which students have the opportunity to experience personal growth in the academic, relational, and spiritual aspects of their lives. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program specific to his or her course(s) that will result in students achieving this growth in accordance with the mission and vision of Westside Christian High School.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Develop and implement instructional practices and strategies that include multiple methods of assessment, support students in meeting rigorous learning goals and engage and encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas.
- Challenges students to think and express their thoughts through engaging lessons and
activities. - Planning instruction assessing student progress on content comprehension.
- Update and maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development as set forth by school policy.
- Consults principal, specialist, other teachers in the school, and students in evaluating
own plans, methods, and results. - Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies, providing a safe, secure and respectful learning environment; communicate student behavior expectations in a positive manner; convey reminders, rules and expectations with consistency and equity, while recognizing the unique qualities and characteristics of the individual.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- The minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstration of experience with positive relationships with high-school aged students.
- An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school’s mission, including signed agreement with WCHS Statement of Faith.
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position.

Position Available: JV2 Boys Soccer Coach

Job Description: The JV2 Boys Soccer Coach will be in charge of the third boys soccer team at Westside Christian High School. The soccer season runs from mid-August to the end of October. The JV2 coach is expected to lead the JV2 team spiritually, technically, and tactically, while fostering strong teamwork, ethics and sportsmanship, on and off the court. Applicants must have quality communication skills, experience and knowledge of the sport, and an ability to lead. Coaching is a great opportunity to develop young athletes for the next generation and to instill Christian values through athletics. The Coach will receive a stipend. All coaches work under the direction of our athletic director, Caleb Turner, and all applications will be referred to him.
Job Expectations
- Coaching and leading the JV2 Boys Soccer Team under the direction of the Head Boys Soccer Coach
- Maintaining all required certifications per OSAA policy
- Organization of all team events and travel
- Responsible for the team uniforms and apparel
- Working with the Head Coach to organize pre-season soccer during the summer months
- Consistent communication with parents/families of the program

- Previous coaching experience at any level

Job Description: The Varsity Cheer Head Coach works directly with the school Athletic Director, the cheerleaders, and the cheerleaders’ families. The Winter OSAA season spans mid-November through early March. The team has traditionally participated in sideline cheer for varsity basketball (boys and girls.)
The Cheer Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct tryouts late Spring to select team members for the competition and sideline team(s)
- Coordinate and attend all practices, games, and events, including summer camp and basketball State Championships (if applicable)
- Develop and implement practice plans that instruct athletes in fundamental skills necessary for individual and team success (including stunting, cheerleading, dance, and competition skills)
- Develop Game Day competition choreography, either personally or through a hired professional
Train athletes to engage and uplift the crowd as sideline cheerleaders - Develop, market, and execute fundraising efforts, such as Youth Cheer Camp (summer), car wash, and Youth Cheer Clinic (winter)
- Partner with Student Council (STUCO) and administration on plans for pep rallies/ assemblies, Back-to-School events, etc., providing cheer team support and involvement where possible
- Plan and lead post-season awards night
- Maintain Cheer Handbook in accordance with program values, plans, policies, and procedures
- Work alongside uniform rep to order necessary items prior to start of the season
- Maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies
- Maintain cheerleading budget through accurate and timely tracking of expenses and fundraising income
- Provide clear and regular communication with athletes and their parents/families
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development
- Promote discipleship and excellence in every aspect of the program
Job Qualifications
Have experience with high school and/or college cheer, ideally in both sideline and competition sectors
NFHS fundamentals of course completion preferred
Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the school's mission.
Have excellent communication skills
Pass a criminal background check
Complete all cheerleading coaching certifications and memberships before the season begins.

Job Description: The Assistant Throws Coach will be in charge of planning and running discus and shot put practices throughout the track season. The track season runs from mid early march until mid-may. The Assistant Throws Coach is expected to lead the throwers spiritually, technically, and tactically, while fostering strong teamwork, ethics and sportsmanship, on and off the track. Applicants must have quality communication skills, experience and knowledge in the sport, and an ability to lead. Coaching is a great opportunity to develop young athletes for the next generation and to instill Christian values through athletics. The Assistant Coach will receive a stipend. Job Expectations

- Becoming Type 20 bus certified to help transport students to and from meets

- Organizing pre-season training during the winter months
- Occasional communication with parents/families of the program
