God desires a whole-life commitment from this generation, a commitment to be
tomorrow's leaders, aware of their purpose and determined to change the world.
Since 1981, Westside has been fortunate to experience a great deal of success. Many high
schools can achieve academic excellence, develop successful athletic teams,
and produce captivating performing arts programs. We have achieved these fundamental
elements of a quality program as well, but our calling and mission go deeper.
Our mission is to equip servant leaders in God's kingdom for the next generation
by educating and developing the whole person to the glory of God.
In educating the whole person, we recognize that it's not enough to just fill our students' heads with knowledge or help them feel deeply about something or promote good deeds. We need God to transform our students from the inside out in all they know, all they feel, and all they do.
We want our students to understand that their lives are gifts from God.
We want them to be equipped and inspired to offer themselves and their gifts
and talents to God as an act of worship for the sake of others.
Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)
"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you:
Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work,
and walking-around life-and place it before God as an offering.
Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it
without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God.
You'll be changed from the inside out."
